Rain Fall

rain fall from heaven
quenches earths thirst
bringing life to barren womb
a much needed drenching
of the most essential element

a cleansing of impurities
that have stained soil
like blood spilled from
clay vessels riddled with holes
from hot lead leaving life
cold and empty on pavement
what newness is brought forth
only has a few short seasons
to see the sun and reach toward
its light as the fires of life burn
within and shine like stars
in the heaven until they fall
from the sky and burn out
awaiting to rise from the ground
like precipitation recycled
