Striking Balance

what it was is that
she loved the idea of me
the introduction of the
complexities not yet
realized though spoken
transparent but vague
perhaps
i'll even take the gaps
of time undefined which
would reveal the lines
connected the struggle
to stand fully divine
but im not perfect
neither is she
though we have great
potential and even better
love to give each other
but smothered fires
extinguish and i admit
my covers but i love
her like i wish i could show
though im finding that
im still learning just
what it means to love
a selfless committment
which can be a challenge
coming from a world
where most matters
revolve around your center
balance
the key to striking harmony
something i both want &
need like a beating heart
bleeding life through my veins
so this body might stay warm &
comfort hers with compassion

that would be more than fine
